Maharaja Lakshman Sen Memorial College, Sundernagar (Mandi Dist.) was also known as M.L.S.M. College, Sundernagar established on 2nd June 1976 by the Late Raja Lalit Sen of Suket to honor the memory of his late father, Maharaja Lakshman Sen, by donating the palace building and the adjoining area of about 100 bighas of land and liberal donations for the furtherance of the spread of higher education in the State.

It is one of the premier institutions established under the management of Maharaja Lakshman Sen Memorial Trust to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) on 3rd December 1977 under Act, 1956.

It is also recognized & approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Jaipur to offer Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) & Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) courses. It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, & Management streams and also offer two years postgraduate courses in Science stream under Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla.

Apart from these courses, the college offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) & Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) courses for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.
