Ledo College, Tinsukia was established on 2nd August, 1997. The college is located in the serene and pollution free area of Bidyanagar, Ledo Kalpara, under Margherita Sub-division, Dist. Tinsukia, Assam.

It is situated in the centre of Ledo from where the historic Stilwell road connects the North-East India with China via Myanmar. Since its inception the college has been performing a pioneering role in the spread of higher education amongst various ethnic linguistic groups of Upper Assam, particularly Dehing Patkai region.

The college is affiliated to Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) Act, 1956.

The college possesses four buildings with a playground which measures to an area of 24 bighas of land by the side of Ledo Kacha Nulah (Ledo River) and historic Ledo Air Strip.

It has been included under Section 2(f) and 12 (B) of UGC Act. 1956. It has also received Women Hostel grant from the UGC, and very shortly a Hostel for female students is going to be constructed at the college campus.

The college offers two years Higher Secondary Courses in Arts stream under Assam Higher Secondary Educational Council (AHSEC), Guwahati and three years Degree Courses in Arts stream under Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh.

It also offers B.A and M.A in Sociology in Distance mode.The B.A course will be in the annual system and will comprise 3 years course in the pattern 1+1+1. The M.A. course will be of 2 years duration in Annual system. The Distance course is affialiated to Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh and the syllabus is based upon the University syllabus.

The admitted students must abide by the college Rules and Regulations as laid down below. Violation of any rule of the college will incur a fine as mentioned.

Students must come to the college in proper uniform during the classes and on other occasions
Students must keep the classroom and campus neat and clean
Library Books lost, torn or defaced in any way will have to be paid by the borrower
Lost of library card will not be replaced during the term. But students keep the card in safe custody
They should not behave in improper way inside the college campus
Consumption of Gutkha, Alcohol, Tobacco is strictly prohibited
Ragging is completly prohibited
Indiscipline inside the campus shall not be tolerated
Use of mobile phone is completly restricted
Attending all college functions and meetings is mandatory
Motor Bike, Mobile Phone and Chewing Gutkha are not allowed within the college campus

Scholarship sponsored by Dr. Bhuminathan is provided yearly for securing highest marks in the Higher Secondary First Year Examination.

Ledo College has a canteen inside the college premises located at a very natural spot for the benefit of students, teachers and the nonteaching staff.

The canteen provides a variety of food items. Moreover, canteen is well-equipped with all the modern facilities and utmost care is taken for health and hygiene.

The college is annually bringing out "Milan Tirtha" a magazine which provides an opportunity for the students to articulate their views on various issues and to indulge in their creativity either writing or art. The college is regularly bringing out a Wall Magazine "Jatra".

Ledo College has an active NSS Wing, Working under the guidance of Dibrugarh University, Dibrugarh

The college Unit NSS Wing performs different type of social services within and outside of Ledo area.

There is a provision of educational tour for the students under the guidance of the teachers with Rail fare concession.

The college also provides NCC training to its students. The NCC cadets attend different camps and earn pride for themselves and for the college.
