KGRL College, Bhimavaram was established in 1975.

It is affiliated to Adikavi Nannaya University & Andhra University & Accreditated by NAAC with 'A' Grade.

The college was inaugurated on 20th August, 1975 by Sri M.R.Appa Rao, the then Vice Chancellor of Andhra University. Sri Mandali Venkata Krishna Rao, the then Education Minister of Govt. of Andhra Pradesh, was the Chief Guest. To start with, it had no home of its own. The college started in the premises of ‘Sri Adavi Bapiraju Municipal Elementary School’ near Veeramma Cheruvu nwith thirty six students of B.A. and B.Com. and five lecturers. The institution had the good fortune of having the services of outstanding personalities like Sri E. Lakshminadha Rao (1975-76) Sri V. Narasimha Rao (1976-91), Dr. M. Lakshmana Rao (1991-2006), Dr. A.V. Satyanarayana (2006-08), Sri M. Sai Manikyala Rao (2008-11), Sri D.V.S. Chandraji (2011-12), Dr. K.V. Krishna Rao (2012-13), Sri M. Subba Raju (2013-14) as Principals. Due to the devoted and committed work of the management, principal, staff and students the college was developed into a mini university stage in the Andhra University area in a short span.

To arrange for periodic assessment and accreditation of institutions of higher education or units thereof, or specific academic programs or projects.
To stimulate the academic environment for promotion of quality of teaching-learning and research in higher education institutions.
To encourage self-evaluation, accountability, autonomy and innovations in higher education.
To undertake quality-related research studies, consultancy and training programs.
To collaborate with other stakeholders of higher education for quality evaluation, promotion and sustenance.
