KET's V.G. Vaze College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Mulund (E) (Dist. Mumbai) was also known as Kelkar Education Trust's Vinayak Ganesh Vaze College of Arts, Science & Commerce was established on 20th June 1984 and managed under Kelkar Education Trust which is established in 1979.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with the University of Mumbai, Mumbai in 1990 and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) on 4th October 1993 under Act, 1956.
 
It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade (CGPA Score 3.17 on a 4 Point Scale in the 4th cycle) on 19th July 2017.

Kelkar Education Trust has been established numbers of colleges/schools for the student in the region of Maharashtra and all over the India.

It is a co-educational private institute, providing a regular course which is located in an urban part of Mumbai played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government. The student's admission is done as per the Admission Criteria prescribed by the affiliating university.

The college was also recognized & conferred the status as “College with Potential for Excellence (CPE)" by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi on 10th September 2004.

This college has awarded and accredited with a five star as the best college by the University of Mumbai, Mumbai in 2005. Also Numbers of an award in publication, offering scholarship also awarded by the different society. The college is listed as one of the top 30 colleges in India by India Today.

The college also has awarded  DBT- FIRST on 07th May 2014 and DBT Star College Scheme on 01st February 2016.

The college also offers two years intermediate courses in Arts, Science, & Commerce streams with optional specialization under Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education, Pune.

The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, & Management streams with various specializations and offers two years postgraduate courses in Science and Commerce stream under the University of Mumbai, Mumbai. It also offers Doctorate (Ph.D.) & Add-On Certificate courses.
