Karnatak University College of Law, Dharwad was established in 1962.

To cater to the educational needs of the law students of North Karnataka is a reputed constituent college of the well-known Karnataka University.

The college has, from the academic year 1997-98, introduced the 5- year B.A., LL.B.(Hons.) program recommended by the Bar Council of India. Entry into this program is based on an Admission Test where the competition has been found to be extremely keen.

Although the maximum intake capacity is 60, bearing in mind the teacher-student ratio, the institution admits around 40 students only.

The Institution has on its roll competent, qualified, dedicated teachers and researchers most of them have carved out a niche amongst the members of legal fraternity and enjoy an enviable standing at the National Level.

The University, with a view to make the Institution an exemplary one is determined to increase the staff strength and provide all other necessary facilities which would make the above Honors program, challenging, stimulating and successful.
