Kandarpur College (KC), Kandarpur was established in 1979.

This is a private, affiliated college. This is a renowned college in this field. The College is a premier educational institution of Cuttack and is a rural district Milestone in the field of education.

The first university I.A. Examination in the college was held in the year 1981. Emboldened by the initial successes, the founders and the management authorities shifted the college to a sprawling patch of land in the adjacent Athanga Mouza in 1983-84.

The college aims to develop value education amongst the rural students and to initiate need-based and innovative methods to improve the quality and impact of the educational programmes.

Located at a little distance from the Cuttack-Jagatsinghpur main road, the college enjoys the twin advantages of easy accessibility and relative isolation. With the passing of time, Kandarpur College has blossomed into a full-fledged academic centre.

The college offers the courses in discipline of arts. The college is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with C++ grade.

The college is affiliated to Utkal University, established in 1943 and is the seventeenth oldest University in India.

There are at present twenty-seven Post-Graduate Departments located in the University Campus for Post-Graduate studies and research in various disciplines. It has been recognized by UGC and it also has the membership of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
