Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences, Bhubaneswar was established in 2007.

KIDS, Bhubaneswar is a constituent of KIIT University which makes a complete institute in the field of technical and professional education.

Being a part of the reputed family of KIIT, KIDS will always strive to scale new parameters in the field of dental health education and research. The foremost significant feature of the college is the quality of education that is imparted. KIDS's one of a kind infrastructure supports the students in honing their skills and become outstanding doctors and dentists.

Academically, the college initially had an intake of 50 undergraduate (BDS) students and later increased to 100 by the Dental Council of India (DCI) from 2011 onwards. KIDS was affiliated to Utkal University for 2 years (2007 & 2008) before becoming a part of KIIT Deemed to be University in the year 2009. The institution is recognized by the Dental Council of India and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India.

Moreover, KIDS has also got approval from the DCI to start its post graduate course (MDS) from the academic year (2014) ineight specialties & from academic year 2017 in all nine specialties. In the academic year 2020 KIDS got approval from academic council of KIIT Deemed to be University to start PhD. Programs in all 9 branches of Dentistry. Dental Sciences is proud of its very competent, dedicated, highly qualified and experienced faculty members who have created a learning process that is effective and thoroughly impactful.

Each branch is as important as the other and every branch has own charm. The clinical experience that can be gained here is unlikely anywhere else.
