K L College of Engineering was established in the academic year 1980-81 and it is one of the constituent colleges of K L Deemed to be University.

The Koneru Lakshmaiah Charities was established as a trust in the year 1980 with its official address and started K L College of Engineering in the Academic year 1980-81.

The college was recognized & approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and it was accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi.

The trust was converted into a Society by the name Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation in the year 1996 and in 2006, the K L College of Engineering has attained autonomous status and in February 2009, the Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation Society was recognized as Deemed to be University.

In short Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation is named as K L Deemed to be University and situated in a spacious 100 acres campus on the banks of Buckingham Canal of river Krishna, eight kilometers from Vijayawada city.

At present, this engineering college offers undergraduate engineering and postgraduate engineering courses in various specializations with well-qualified faculty members.
