JSS Medical College, Mysore was started in 1984-85.

It is recognized by the Medical Council of India and was affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, Bangalore from 1995-1996.

A constituent college of JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research Accredited A+ Grade by NAAC. JSS Medical College is an eminent medical education institution located at Sri Shivarathreeshwara Nagara, Mysuru, Karnataka, India. College was established in 1984 and is in the lush green campus of 43 acres.

JSS Medical College was affiliated to the University of Mysore from 1984 to 1995 and later to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore till 2008. JSS Medical College is now a constituent college of JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (Established under Section-3 of UGC Act) since 28-05-2008. The College is recognized by the Medical Council of India and the college aims at imparting excellent quality medical education that markedly improves the health sector and cater to the need of all strata of the society.

JSS Medical College has emerged as renowned institute in the country by providing medical education of high standards and compassionate health care programs through internationalization, innovation in academic and research studies. JSS Medical College offers undergraduate course in medicine (M.B.B.S) with annual intake of 200 seats and postgraduate degree (M.D and M.S) in 22 different medical disciplines along with 4 super specialty courses, DM Medical Gastroenterology, DM Neurology, DM Nephrology and M.Ch. Urology. Additionally, the institute offers 13 BSc Biomedical science programmes and M.Sc. in 9 disciplines (Medical Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Clinical embryology, Clinical Psychology, Genetics & Genomics) and Masters in Public Health (MPH), M.Phil Psychiatry Social Work. Institution is offering Fellowship course in Pain Medicine, Psycho Sexual Medicine and Certificate course in Psycho Sexual Medicine. These courses are perfect blend of community oriented, problem based learning with high quality clinical reasoning. The college also provides PhD programmes in Medical and Biomedical Sciences to promote research and developmental activities.
