About Indian Institute of Finance

Indian Institute of Finance (IIF), Greater Noida was founded in 1987 as a non-profit autonomous educational institution, to promote education and research in Finance.

IIF has made distinguished scholarly contributions acclaimed nationally and internationally. IIF is solely devoted to the promotion of education and research and not for profit, in public interest.

IIF was founded by Professor (Dr) J.D. Agarwal an outstanding educationist and philanthropist under the aegis of Jyoti Foundation a public charitable trust registered under Trust Act and also u/s 12A of Income Tax Act 1961.

IIF is recognized and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

IIF is apolitical and maintains neutrality in its views, opinions, and operations. IIF follows highest possible Norms, Standards, Transparency, Accountability, and Code of Ethics.

Indian Institute of Finance offers Ph.D. Program in collaboration with the University of Mysore, Mysuru as a recognized Centre of Research of the University of Mysore in the areas of Commerce, Economics, Management, and Statistics.

The Ph.D. The program is designed strictly as per the UGC Regulations on minimum Standard and Procedures for the award of M.Phil/Ph.D. Degree, Regulations 2009 and guidelines for admission in Ph.D.

Objectives:

  • To fill the gap in the existing education & higher learning than substituting the existing system
  • To reach and provide education to those where no education facilities are available
  • As a socially responsible organization to give special consideration to the Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Tribes candidates; Handicapped candidates; Personnel from Defence Forces including War Widows; College and University teachers and their wards
  • As an act of Philanthropy the Institute grants Scholarships / Graduate Assistantships to all the deserving cases; In the past, about 10 % students are granted Tuition fees waiver; Fellowships; Scholarships and Graduate Assistantships
  • The Institute feels responsible to consider that the nation; society; the world at large; employers; parents of students/funding agencies such as banks or donors and lastly the students and employees as the major stakeholders

  • IIF has well-equipped library with over 55,000 thoughtfully selected books on finance, accounting, management, economics, taxation etc The library has over 110 doctoral dissertations, 900 Academic Professional journals, and magazines has over 5000 latest financial statements of more than 500 private & public sector enterprises and financial institutions
  • The computer center provides a centralized computing facility to complement the teaching and research function of the Institute. Various software packages and graphic tools are maintained to facilitate the general computing requirements

  • IIF has established the Placement and Career Development cell, which is managed by the IIF Graduates under the guidance of a Full Professor. The Cell counsels and helps students launch their career in the right direction.
  • IIF'S outstanding summer training and Placement record set it apart amongst the management institutions in the country. All students are required to go through an 8 weeks (2 months) Summer Training (Industrial Exposure).
  • IIF Fraternity provides an excellent opportunity whereby the interests of the students can be represented. The Fraternity acts as a center for interaction and dissemination of information among members who are now senior executives in their respective fields.
  • IIF Study Groups help its members to make up and refurbish the knowledge gaps. Study groups encourage learning, teaching exercises amongst students in small groups.
  • IIF has set up a finance fraternity to debate and discuss issues of contemporary relevance in the areas of finance and accounting in a free and frank atmosphere.
  • IIF has set up the cyber club to facilitate communication electronically with people at other institutions worldwide through the internet and e-mail.
  • IIF has to its credit over 1000 Radio / TV talks and its views & opinions appearing more than 5000 times in national and international dailies on various economic issues.
  • IIF is very strict in terms of discipline and expect students to maintain high standard of ethics and good conduct, both during course of studies and afterward
  • To sharpen the skill of students and their personality development, various curricular and extra-curricular activities are the regular features of the institution
  • The Institute also organizes workshops, seminars, and conferences for improving teaching skills and methodology.
  • The Institute consists Women Cell to help female students. This cell helps and guides girls to sort out from their personal problem and avoid them from any harassment
