Indira Gandhi National (IGN) College, Ladwa (Dhanora) was established in July 1975.
It is one of the premier institutions established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
The college is affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra and recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.
It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade - (in 1st Cycle) on 21st March 2003.
Located in the lap of nature, shining in the glory and splendor of lush green fields and beautified with serenity and sweetness of natural environment, Indira Gandhi National College was conceived and brought into existence by Late Sh. Om Parkash Garg the then MLA, by enlisting the support of the leading personalities of the area and mobilizing the necessary funds for this mammoth project. 37 acres of land for the purpose was donated by village Panchayat Dhanora.
The foundation stone of the college was laid by the then Chief Minister of Haryana Ch. Bansi Lal on 24th January 1974 after obtaining permission from the then Prime Minister of India, Late Mrs. Indira Gandhi to christen the institution after her name.
The college started functioning in July 1975, with two faculties viz Humanities and commerce with a makeshift arrangement at Kissan Rest House, Ladwa.
The task of constructing a splendid and impressive building in all its beauty and modernity gathered momentum and the college management was able to have the building inaugurated on 30th November 1975 by the then Governor of Haryana, Late Sh. B.N. Chakravarti.
The college can be easily approached from Kurukshetra, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Karnal by excellent metalled roads by covering an average distance of 20-30 Kms. The college staff is highly qualified who have earned their respective degrees from various reputed Universities.
Moreover, the staff comprises a good proportion of seasonal veterans and brilliant youngsters.
Each and every staff member possesses a high level of commitment to academics with a deep interest in teaching and research work.
The various subjects taught at B.A./B.Sc./B.C.A./ B.Com include English, Pol. Science, Maths, History, Economics, Commerce, Punjabi, Computers, Library Science, Hindi, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany etc.
Under the “Self-Financing Scheme” PG-Course in English, B.C.A., B.Lib. & Inf. Sc., Computer Science in B. Sc. & B.A., Health & Physical Education, and Punjabi are available
