Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University, Raipur was commonly known as ICFAI University, Raipur was established on 25th March 2011 under Section 9(2) of the Chhattisgarh Private Universities (Establishment and Operations) Act 2005 and Chhattisgarh Private Universities (Establishment and Operation) (Amendment) Act, 2006 vide notification published in the Chhattisgarh State Gazette.

It is one of the constituent parts of the ICFAI Universities established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The university said to be Deemed University and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in terms of listing under section 22 of the UGC Act vide letter No 8-32/2011(CPP-I/PU) dated December 2011.

The university is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. It also recognized and approved by All India Council for Techincal Education (AICTE), New Delhi to offer various kind of technical courses with unique kind of specializations.

The First Statutes and First Ordinances duly framed by the Governing Body were approved by the Chhattisgarh Private Universities Regulatory Commission and Government of Chhattisgarh and was published in the Chhattisgarh State Gazette on December 16, 2011.

At present, the university offers three years undergraduate courses in Management & Engineering (Lateral Entry) stream with various specializations. It also offers two years postgraduate courses in MBA & MCA.
