Gujarat Research Society's Hansraj Jivandas College of Education, Mumbai was also known as HJCE, Mumbai established on 16th June 1969 under the management of Gujarat Research Society, which was established in 1954.
It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.
The college is affiliated with University of Mumbai, Mumbai and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) in January 1970 under Act, 1956.
It is also recognized and approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bhopal to offer B.Ed course and re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A+" Grade - (CGPA Score 3.53 on a 4 Point Scale in 3rd Cycle) on 19th July 2017.
The main aim of the college is determined to provide the quality education to the future teachers. With the correct mix of technology and human touch, the college empowers the aspiring teachers to propagate education through the rungs of the society so that they serve the nation while making a satisfying career for themselves.
The college comprises two merged into an ICSE School and a Junior College, a Medical center, a Guidance, and Counseling unit, into a Centre for Life Long Learning and Hansraj Jivandas College of Education.
It is co-educational private institute, providing a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Mumbai played a pioneering role in the field of higher education. The campus is located in another city also has a different name of institutions as well as abroad.
The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government. The student's admission is done as per the Admission Criteria prescribed by the affiliating university.
The college offers two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) courses for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.
Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.
Also, this college is a very active Research Centre for Ph.D. in Education. This college is also conducting add-on programs and signed by the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi.
The college also offers Master of Arts in Education course through distance mode. The distance mode of education is recognized by the study centre of Institute of Distance and Open Learning, University of Mumbai.
