Guru Shree Shantivijai Jain College for Women was established in 1967.

GURU SHREE SHANTIVIJAI JAIN COLLEGE FOR WOMEN is founded by Shree Maharveer Jain Kalyan Sangh (established in 1967) a Voluntary Charitable Jain association. The college is named after the great Jain Saint Yogiraj Guru Sree Santivijai Maharaj of Mount Abu (India) to make the memory of the birth Centenary Celebration.

This is a Self Financing college which is established and administered as Religious and Linguistic Minority Institution and it is approved by the State Government and Affiliated to the University of Madras. Regular Day College was started in the academic year 1991-92 and Evening College in the academic year 1995-96.

Imparting Quality Education and working for Social upliftment of Young Women, Inculcating moral Values and educating ways to strive in the competitive world to young women students are the motives of the college.

Excellent academic environment, Unique learning experiences, effective teaching methodologies, high record of academic excellence, and co-curricular and extracurricular activities pillar the college and elevate learning experience that help students acquire the sterling qualities of leadership, courage and truthfulness.

The college main goal is to impart qualitative education to young women, inculcating moral values and instilling confidence in them.

The college is a self financing college approved by the State Government & affiliated to the University of Madras.

The college started the course after getting permission from the Govt. of Tamil Nadu, approval from the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and the affiliation from the University of Madras.

The college aims to provide and excellent academic environment to augment and accelerate learning in students and reveal their inner talents & potentials.
