Guru Nanak Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology (GNIPST), Kolkata was established in 2005.

Guru Nanak Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology was established in the year 2005 under the aegis of Guru Nanak Education Trust with the aim to achieve excellence in academics and research. The institute is situated at Panihati, Sodpur, Kolkata-700114.

The Institute obtained statutory affiliation from West Bengal University of Technology (currently known as Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology), AICTE and Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). This is the first Autonomous pharmacy institute in Eastern India accredited by NAAC & NBA. The institute has consecutively ranked in National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) for last six years. In NIRF 2022 GNIPST achieved all India Rank 84 amongst Pharmacy colleges.

The Institute runs five post graduate courses in Pharmacy, respectively in Pharmaceutical Chemistry (started from 2011), Pharmacology (started from 2012), Pharmaceutics (started from 2013), Pharmaceutical quality assurance (started from 2020) and Regulatory affairs (started from 2020) with due affiliations from MAKAUT, AICTE and PCI.

To provide the ambience needed for developing skills to make a mark in education and research.

To ensure that developmental and administrative associates are provided with necessary resources to excel in research and administration.

To inculcate the sense of lifelong learning for achieving the marked personal standards.

QUALITY POLICY

Implement best standards and practices of good governance, ensuring sustainability, which will be revisited time to time and imprinted to bring in transparency of operations and improve credibility at all levels.

Inculcate positive attitude in budding professionals, to develop entrepreneurial skills, nurturing the students and launching feasible and viable projects through crowd funding initiatives.

Establish more productive linkages with academia and industry; developing self-learning habits and encouraging Higher Studies/research, upgradation of knowledge for Faculty & Staff

Develop interdisciplinary research and development laboratory facilities to provide the ambience for R&D activities for faculties, post graduate and PhD students promoting inter-academia conversation.

Carry out Industrial consultancy in an effective manner through Industry Institute Partnership cell (IIPC). The students are to be encouraged to go for internships at reputed industries.
