About Govt. Sarojini Naidu Girls PG College (Autonomous)
Govt. Sarojini Naidu Girls PG College, Shivaji Nagar (Dist. Bhopal) is an Autonomous College, formerly known as Nutan College, Bhopal was established on 1st July 1970 and managed by Govt. of M.P. & Jan Bhagidari Samiti (JBS).
It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone on the part of progress.
The college is affiliated with Barkatullah University, Bhopal and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) on 2nd November 2001 under Act, 1956.
It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade (CGPA Score 3.09 on a 4 Point Scale in 3rd Cycle) on 28th March 2017.
The aim of the college was providing programmes to women students of the college, for preparing themselves for a life of economic independence, emotional stability, and educational autonomy.
It is a woman private Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Bhopal played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.
At its inception, the college was named as Government Girls College, Tulsi Nagar and became popular as Nutan college. For eleven years, the college was housed in the building of the Government Middle School, Tulsi Nagar and in 1981 was shifted to its new premises.
The college had received many awards and accolades at a city, state and national level for their educational advancements also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of sports and curricular activities under Barkatullah University, Bhopal.
This college has conferred the status "Autonomous" on 28th April 2005 and the status as "College with Potential for Excellence (CPE)" by the UGC on 18th March 2010.
The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management streams with various specializations and offers two years of postgraduate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management with various specializations under Barkatullah University, Bhopal.
It also offers Ph.D., Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma, and Add-On courses.
University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by Barkatullah University, Bhopal and various other examinations are held in the college premises.
Admissions here also done through Govt. of M.P. online portal by the Department of Higher Education M.P. and hence gives a transparent and fair method of admission.

- The college has well-equipped with modern facilities like library, laboratory, classrooms, computer lab, seminar halls, hostel, canteen, multipurpose halls, playground etc.
- A sufficient number of classrooms with varying sizes are made available for the smooth conduct of different classes in the college
- The college has a library with a good number of books (both text and reference) on various subjects to meet the needs of the students as well as the teachers with reading room facility. Daily Newspapers and selected journals are also regularly subscribed
- State of the Art Laboratories with sufficient space and all the necessary equipment are made available to various departments
- The college has taken up the responsibility of imparting necessary, effective and practical education to the students so that they can reach great heights and attain maximum achievements in their life
- The college has established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) to assure the quality of the college and also details regarding submission of Annual Quality Assurance Reports (AQAR) to NAAC annually
- Internet facilities may be availed by the students and teachers as per their needs
- The Transportation facility is available for students
- The college has a significant presence in the field of research. A number of major & minor research projects are awarded to the faculty members by the UGC and other bodies
- The college has a large playground with well-equipment for different sports like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Badminton and so on
- A medical facility has been available in the college for the benefit of the students
- State Government and Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
- The institution has provided ICT facilities like computers, projectors, audio-visual gadgets, scanners and printers to the departments and also other aids and a huge number of availability of books for effective delivery of curriculum and for inculcating the knowledge of the subject
- A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
- To sharpen the skill of students and their personality development, various curricular and extra-curricular activities are the regular features of the institution
- The college also provides NCC training to its students. The NCC cadets attend different camps and earn pride for themselves and for the college
- The college Unit NSS Wing performs different type of social services within and outside of the area
- The college also organizes workshops, seminars, and conferences for improving teaching skills and methodology
- The college consists of Women Empowerment Cell for aiming at intellectual and social upliftment of the female students, the cell stands for facilitating women's empowerment through guest lectures, seminars, awareness programs, other welfare activities and to analyze underlying causes through research to women discrimination and to generate awareness
