Govt. P.G. College Bilaspur (H.P.), Bilaspur or Government Post Graduate College, Bilaspur was established in 1952.

It is one of the premier institutions to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade - (CGPA Score 2.43 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 21st February 2014.

The main aim of the college is determined to provide the quality education to the students. With the correct mix of technology and human touch, the college empowers the aspiring teachers to propagate education through the rungs of the society so that they serve the nation while making a satisfying career for themselves.

Besides imparting formal educational in all the three stream i.e. Arts, Science, and Commerce, today the institution is successfully running many professional courses such as- BCA & PGDCA, B.Sc.(Biotech), BBA and BTA under the self-financing scheme of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).

The college also has a Contact Centre of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi for PG Courses & Certificate Courses.
