Govt. Digvijay (P.G.) Autonomous College, Rajnandgaon was established on 13th July 1957 and has completed 50 years of its existence.

It is one of the premier institutions to impart & provide a platform in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the path of progress.

The college is affiliated to Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) Act, 1956. It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade in 2013.

The growth of the institution has been remarkable. The college today stands like a colossus, proud of the thousands of alumni that adorn positions of prominence in all walks of life, thanks to the education that they received in their alma mater.

The Golden Jubilee of the college was an opportunity for everyone who had passed through its corridors to revisit their temple of learning and contribute to its growth to achieve greater glory. The college celebrated the Silver Jubilee in 1981-82. The college was conferred autonomous status by UGC in 1992-93. The college celebrated the Golden Jubilee in 2007.

Govt. Digvijay Autonomous College is a government funded college. UGC is also funding the college for development activities. It is linked to all parts of the country by NH No.6 and South East Central Railways. The environment of the college is healthy and peaceful.

More than 50% of the faculty members have Ph.D. and other research qualifications. They are experienced and committed. The students are serious in studies, disciplined and well behaved. The admission process is transparent and just. We have flexibility in the choice of the subjects at the Undergraduates level.

Govt. Digvijay Autonomous College is most appropriately christened as a fitting tribute to the eminent ruler of erstwhile Rajnandgaon State Late Raja Digvijay Das who remains a constant source of inspiration for our young students.

His bronze bust installed in front of the college continues to encourage and enlighten the young minds to strive to fathom as yet unexplored areas of knowledge.

The college offers UG courses, PG courses, and Research Programs under Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur.
