Govt. Dau Kalyan (D.K.) Arts and Commerce Post Graduate College, Balodabazar was established on 19th July 1963. It is one of the premier institutions to impart & provide a platform in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the path of progress.

The college is affiliated to Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) Act, 1956 in March 1985. It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade in 2007.

The college is located on the Mumbai-Kolkata South Central Railway (SECR) 24 km from Bhatapara railway station road South East and 84 km from district Raipur North East.

The foundation of the college is done by "Baloda-Bazar Education Society, Baloda Bazar" and the college is spread 24.65 acres area of land and has the calm, quiet and pleasant atmosphere and playing a important role for the enhancement of educational and mental capability of the students.

This PG college hold the facility where students gets an opportunity to develop their overall skills through various multi-faculty section present here like Arts, Science, Commerce & Law.

Apart from these the college also has the facilities and employment sections like - DCA, BSc (IT), PGDCA & ADD-ON affiliated under the rules of university where weaker and minority section of the society also get the enhance to develop their educational and mental skills time to time by the help of Remedial coaching classes, UGC New Delhi. For the further betterment and development of higher education.

This college is contributing continuously and has the facilities of 8 major PG Courses like - Mathematics, Hindi, Political Science, English, Sociology, Economics, Geography, Commerce.

Here in this area, this college is well known for its Ph.D. centre for courses like Hindi, Political Science, and Commerce.

It also has a better internet facilities and a huge library. The technical gadgets like slide projector, overhead projector, LCD etc.are used for the educational purpose.

The college is handed over to Govt. On 17 July 1981. After the establishment of New District BalodaBazar-Bhatapara this college is declared as leading college of the district on April 2012.
