About Govt. College, Panagar

Govt. College, Panagar (Dist. Jabalpur) was popularly known as Government Arts College, Panagar established on 2nd November 1987 in Nagar Palika Bhawan Campus, Panagar. The college had been shifted to its present place in the year 1997, Hence the college has a glorious past and tradition.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with Rani Durgawati Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) under Act, 1956.

It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B" Grade.

The aim of college was the acquisition and transmission of knowledge among the local populace of the region to promote national and rational outlook also keeping the local and global needs of time in mind efforts are being made by the institution to impart quality education and prepare youth force whose dynamic potential will serve nation and society simultaneously.

It was a co-educational government Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Jabalpur played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college was located in the urban part of Panagar because Panagar was formerly a town adjacent to Jabalpur city and now a day due to the expansion of Jabalpur metropolitan area, it has got the status of the suburb of this widely expanding city.

The college also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of education, sports and curricular activities under Rani Durgawati Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur.

The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Arts, Science, and Commerce streams with various specializations under Rani Durgawati Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur.

Admission to various courses is granted through merit-cum-reservation policy of the Government of Madhya Pradesh and the cut off marks vary for different courses.

A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
To sharpen the skill of students and their personality development, various curricular and extra-curricular activities are the regular features of the institution
The college also provides NCC training to its students. The NCC cadets attend different camps and earn pride for themselves and for the college
