Govt. College, Khurai (Dist. Sagar) was established in 1987 in the premises of Nagarpalika Bhavan, Khurai managed by Jan Bhagidari Samiti (JBS).

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, Sagar and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

The college aims were to improve academic as well as extracurricular abilities of students who mostly come from the semi-urban area.

It is a co-educational government Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the semi-urban part of Sagar played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college has been brought up and located in the new their campus in 2007.

The college also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of education, sports and curricular activities under Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, Sagar.

The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Arts, Science, and Commerce streams with various specializations and two years of a postgraduate course in Commerce with various specializations under Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, Sagar.

University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, Sagar and various other examinations are held in the college premises.

Admissions here also done through Govt. of M.P. online portal by the Department of Higher Education M.P. and hence gives a transparent and fair method of admission.

A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
