Govt. College Bhiwani was established in 1971 by Ex. Chief Minister of Haryana; Ch. Bansi Lal to keep alive this healthy tradition and to fulfill the demand of higher education of the people of Bhiwani and its catchments area.

In the beginning Govt. College did not have its own building. So its first academic session was started in the hostel of ITI, Bhiwani. Its construction was started in 1972. The college was formally inaugurated on 17th January 1975.

The college is affiliated to Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

There is provision for morning classes in the college. Arts, Commerce, Science, and PG in Psychology, M.Com. PGDRP Diploma, BBA, BCA, BSc. Computer Sci. etc. are taught in morning.

Many Job oriented courses are also taught in the college. The classes of MA. English, MA. Eco. MA. Pol. Sci is being held in the evening session. The intelligent students and at the same time who are the breadwinner of their families, who are busy at various jobs during the daytime attend the B.A and B.Com classes in the evening.

This institution has been declared “College of Excellence” and given special grants. Being well equipped with maximum good quality educational facilities, our college is maintaining a supreme place in all the leading college of Haryana.

  • A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
  • The college consists Women Cell to help female students. This cell helps and guides girls to sort out from their personal problem and avoid them from any harassment
