Govt. Chhatrasal P.G. College, Panna was established in 1958 founded by the inspiration of great legends Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma and Dr. S. Radhakrishnan to fulfill their dreams.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, Sagar and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12 (b) under Act, 1956.

It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B+" Grade (CGPA Score 2.55 on a 4 Point Scale in 1st Cycle) on 5th November 2016.

The aim of the college was an acquisition, preservation, and transmission of knowledge to promote national and rational outlook among the youth and to provide qualitative education.

It was a co-educational government Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Panna played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of education, sports and curricular activities under Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, Sagar.

The college offers three years undergraduate courses in Bachelor of Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management streams and two years of postgraduate courses in Arts, Science, and Commerce with various specializations under Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, Sagar.

Admission to various courses is granted through merit-cum-reservation policy of the Government of Madhya Pradesh and the cut off marks vary for different courses.

The college has a significant presence in the field of research. A number of major & minor research projects are awarded to the faculty members by the UGC and other bodies
The college has a large playground with well-equipment for different sports like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Badminton and so on
A medical facility has been available in the college for the benefit of the students
State Government and Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
The institution has provided ICT facilities like computers, projectors, audio-visual gadgets, scanners and printers to the departments and also other aids and a huge number of availability of books for effective delivery of curriculum and for inculcating the knowledge of the subject
A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell. Apart from this, Ragging is strictly prohibited on the college campus
To sharpen the skill of students and their personality development, various curricular and extra-curricular activities are the regular features of the institution
The college also provides NCC training to its students. The NCC cadets attend different camps and earn pride for themselves and for the college
The college Unit NSS Wing performs different type of social services within and outside of the area
