Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College, Salem was started in 1990.

The college is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University and approved by Medical Council of India (MCI), New Delhi.

The medical college is spread over sprawling 150 acres of land.

A hospital is also attached with the College called Govt. Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Hospital.   Govt Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College offers higher education in the field of medical sciences, at undergraduate level.

The course is of four and a half year’s duration, with one year of compulsory internship.
