Government Meera Girls College was established in 1956.

Its Affiliated to Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, it offers multi-faculty graduate courses in 24 disciplines and postgraduate courses in 24 disciplines and postgraduate studies in 13 subjects.

This college is a multi-faculty postgraduate college for women, located in the historic city of Udaipur known for its chivalry spirituality and scenic splendors.

The primary objectives of the college are to provide young women with equal opportunities and facilities for their all round development leading to self-actualization; to help them grow into responsible citizens with a secular and broadened outlook; and to impart them adequate knowledge and skills for securing suitable employment.

Extra curricular and co-curricular activities are a regular feature of the college.
