Government Medical College, Mysore was established in 1924.

GMC, Mysore is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) and is also recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI). The management of the college is run by the State Government.

Government Medical College, Mysore was formerly known as the Mysore Medical College.
