Government College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Quepem was established on June 1989. It is one of the premier institutions to impart & provide a platform in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the path of progress.

The college is located at 2 km, from Quepem town. It is far away from the hustle and bustle of city life, situated in the vicinity of verdant fields. Tranquility and solitude are the striking features of the location. This ambiance offers an ideal setting to nurture our students in terms of their heads, hands, and hearts.

The college is affiliated to Goa University, North Goa and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) on 11th March 1991 & 12(B) on 25th April 2004 under Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bengaluru with "A" Grade with a CGPA score of 3.23 (Third Cycle) in March 2016. With this achievement, Govt. College, Quepem now ranks 3rd in colleges across Goa and takes pole position among the Government Colleges of Goa.

The college aims towards offering quality education to its students in fulfillment of all the specifications laid down by University Grants Commission and Goa University, North Goa. The college also focuses on empowering students to be good leaders who will spread the light of knowledge, harmony, and equality in all spheres of life.

The college offers three years undergraduate program in Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) & Bachelor of Commerce affiliated with Goa University, North Goa.

Students who have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) Examination conducted by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Goa in equivalent streams subject to terms and conditions laid down by Goa University, North Goa are eligible to study in these courses.

These courses are spread across six semesters through a varied combination of subjects consisting. It also offers two years PG course in Master of Commerce (M.Com) & Various Certificate Courses are proposed with the primary objective of developing not just graduates but resourceful citizens.

The college has an attractive, campus situated in secured and serene atmosphere suitable for learning
The college has separate individual departments for all subjects with young, dynamic faculty and non-teaching staff and with good results
The college has the most eminent Faculty members and they are really well qualified, experienced and truly committed towards enhancement and development of the students
The college has well-equipped with modern facilities like library, laboratory, classrooms, computer lab, canteen, seminar halls, multipurpose halls & playground etc.
A sufficient number of classrooms with varying sizes are made available for the smooth conduct of different classes in the college
The college has a library with a good number of books (both text and reference) on various subjects to meet the needs of the students as well as the teachers with reading room facility. Daily Newspapers and selected journals are also regularly subscribed
The college library is well stocked with books related to all disciplines. It subscribes to 6 local and 5 national dailies. At present, it has a total of 19,193 books for general reading and reference. State of the Art Laboratories with sufficient space and all the necessary equipment are made available to various departments.
The college has established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) to assure the quality of the college
The college runs a canteen inside the campus where staff and students can have meals and snacks prepared in a hygienic manner and at an affordable cost
Internet & Wi-Fi facilities may be availed by the students and teachers as per their needs
The college has a large playground, Basket Ball court and facilities and equipment for different sports like Cricket, football, Volleyball, Hockey, badminton, Table tennis and so on
State Government and the Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
A special complaint cell (Sexual Harassment Cell) has been formed for the female students in the college. Students can directly complain orally or by written application to the head of the cell
The institute provides the training facility like- face to face interview, resume making, communication skills, that help the students to face the campus recruitment.
For every course, the college imparts practical training to its students that helps them to understand better, improve their demonstrative skills, eliminate hesitation and in this process strives to mold them into industry ready professionals
