Government College for Women (GCW), Srikakulam was established in 1968.

The college is affiliated to Dr.B.R.Ambedkar University, Srikakulam and accredited by NAAC with 'A' Grade.

Vision:

To achieve the twin goals of gender justice and eco-friendly environment by providing quality higher education to all sections of women in and around Srikakulam.

Mission:

We offer admissions into the existing U.G. Courses in Arts, Commerce and Basic sciences. It has been our endeavour to enroll and accommodate more and more students from backward and downtrodden classes hailing from rural and interior habitations.

The conventional courses are being renovated and reinforced by introducing new combinations with job potential and scope for higher learning, related to tourism and travel management, biochemistry, micro biology, computer applications etc. We also organize courses and programmes to enhance employability and career potential of students though JKC, Language Labs, Translation proficiency certificate courses, etc. As an extension and value addition:

We have P.G. courses in Chemistry and Telugu.
