Goa College of Pharmacy, Panaji was established in 1961.

It is affiliated to Goa University and approved by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi  and is run by Government of Goa.

In the year 1963, after  liberation of Goa in 1961, the institute was renamed as Goa College of Pharmacy and shifted to the present premises which was formerly a Portuguese school. This pharmacy course was upgraded to a full   fledged degree course of Bachelor of Pharmacy under University of Bombay. 

Goa College of Pharmacy, with its roots from Portuguese times as a Pharmacy department in a medical college ESCOLA MEDICA de GOA , renamed as Goa College of Pharmacy in 1963 with a dedicated campus, under the aegis of Government of Goa is on a journey to educate and nurture the finest quality pharmacist. Ever since its inception, GCP has focused on augmenting human resource by producing world -class Pharmacist. Alumni of our illustrious institute have distinguished themselves as industrialists, entrepreneurs, innovators , educationists, heads of prestigious organization, practicing pharmacists. GCP ,Goa which has become a brand name, is one of the top 25 pharmacy college in India as per the recent NIRF ranking conducted by MHRD.
