GMR Institute of Technology (GMRIT), Srikakulam was established in 1997 by GMR Varalakshmi Foundation the corporate social responsibility arm of GMR Group.

GMR Established in 1997, GMR Institute of Technology has come a long way since its inception and has carved a niche for itself in the corporate word. It is currently placed among the top 75 and aims to be counted among the top 20 Technical Institutions in the Country by 2018-19. Located about 100 KM from Visakhapatnam, GMRIT is a beautiful campus spread over 155 acres in Rajan.

As the flagship Institute of GMR Varalakshmi Foundation, GMRIT has set high standards for itself and offers an idyllic and conducive environment for higher studies. It is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada. The institute became Autonomous in 2012-13.
