Gandhi Medical College (GMC), Hyderabad was setup in 1954.

The college is the second oldest medical college in Hyderabad, the Osmania Medical College being the first one.

Gandhi Medical College was initially named as the Peoples Medical College and it was re-christened as Gandhi Medical College on 25th June, 1955.

The GMC has an annual intake of 150 students in MBBS Degree Course and it also has 88 postgraduate seats including clinical, non-clinical and super specialty subjects.

The college also offers 37 degrees in various branches of medicine.

The beginning day of the Gandhi Medical College (GMC), 14th September, has been heralded red letter day for the advancement of medical education in India.
