Gandhi Medical College, Bhopal was established in 1955.

Its Affiliated to Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University.

GMC, Bhopal is one of the best medical college in India. Gandhi Medical College was inaugurated on by Pt. Lal Bahadur Shashtri.

The college started their functioning in the building of the Polytechnic with first batch of fifty students and two departments.

The College now has twenty three departments with multi faceted Faculty. The Medico legal Institute, Regional Eye Institute and Cardiac Sciences Centre are well established.

Post Graduate Courses in almost all the specialties and Post Doctoral Course in Pediatric Surgery are ongoing and a Post Doctoral Course in Cardio thoracic Surgery is about to be commenced. Gandhi Medical College is one of the most prestigious institutions of the country.
