G. Venkataswamy Naidu College, Kovilpatti was established in 1966. The college is accredited by NAAC with B++ grade.

"The Idea of Starting a college at Kovilpatti was mooted on 29th April, 1966". The college was formally inaugurated on 17th July, 1966 by Mr.M.Bakthavatsalam, The honorable Chief-Minister of Madras. G. Venkataswamy Naidu College was born on 30th June, 1966 by the auspices of the G. Kuppuswamy Naidu Charity Trust for Education and Medical Relief. The regular classes commenced with the blessings of the Zamindar of Illayarasanendal Sri K.R. Appaswamy Naidu.

The aim of the college is to serve the people of the country by imparting sound education with opportunities for research.

The prime aim of the college is to impart global standard education using global standard methodology and technology.

They provide value based education with emphasis on discipline.

The college is molding a regimented graduate for a healthy knowledgeable society and strives to become one of the best institutes of learning in arts and science, by providing the best job oriented courses.
