G.D. Modi College of Arts, Palanpur was established in 1964.

The College is managed under Banaskantha District Kelavani Mandal. The College is affiliated to H.N.G. University, Patan and accredited by N.A.A.C. with B Grade.

Presently, their student strength is over 2000 and they are seated in huge building measuring over 59000 Sq.feet.

The prime objective is to prepare fearless men and women who can shirk off the vagaries of life, taking everything in their strides and showing some character, vis-a-vis destiny.

Being economically and educationally backward district, their objectives are determined by the contextual necessities. Over 70% of the students come from the so called lower strata of the society. Most of them come here to enable them to earn livelihood after the completion of their studies.

Hence, their prime objective is to help them achieve their aspirations. Of course, the college is wedded to far too obvious objectives as there can be of any educational institution viz. mental, physical, aesthetic, social, spiritual and economic progress, ensuring all round growth of an adult individual and further inculcating in them the virtues of hard work, honesty, fairness, tolerance etc.
