Faculty of Visual Arts - Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi is a constituent department of Banaras Hindu University, was established in 1916 leading to the Bachelor of Fine Arts Course and Postgraduate course of Master in Fine Arts.
It is a premier arts department for advanced training in Visual Art i.e. Creative and Applied Art, under the Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and run by Government of Uttar Pradesh.
This department runs courses under the Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956
The department aims to prepare the students for creative and applied responsibilities in the world of art and design.
It is a co-educational State Govt. Institute, providing regular courses in which is located in the urban part of Varanasi played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.
The department that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government.
