Established in 1978, Faculty of Architecture - Manipal Academy of Higher Education is one of the premier architecture college imparting higher education.

In the beginning, the college offer B.Arch course under the Mysore University, Mysuru and later in 1980, the college came under the Mangalore University, Mangaluru.

In October 2003, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) renamed the Department of Architecture as Faculty of Architecture. In 2010, it became the 22nd Institute of Manipal Academy of Higher Education.

It is recognized by the Council of Architecture (COA), New Delhi and awarded the certificate of ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 4001:2004 Certification. It is also an institutional member of Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), New Delhi.
