Durga Mahavidyalaya (College), Raipur was established on 15th July 1951. It is one of the premier institutions to impart & provide a platform in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the path of progress.

The college is affiliated to Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) Act, 1956. It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

It is also recognized by National  Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bhopal to offer Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) course.

Durga Mahavidyalaya has a strong educational orientation with a focus on academic excellence and placements.At the same time, we embrace our social obligation and are committed to ensuring that our activities & benefits society with which we are strongly interwoven.

Durga Mahavidyalaya endeavors to attain merit in every enterprises-education, research, training and other co-curricular activities. The college three years Degree Courses & two years PG Courses in Arts & Commerce stream under Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur. It also offers some Career Oriented Courses / Add-On Course.

It also offers one year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university is eligible to apply for this course.

Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.

Rules and Regulations at Durga Mahavidyalaya (College), Raipur:

• It is customary the students must maintain their behavior and character according to the reputation of the college.
• It is prohibited to take money or advertisement from outside in the name of the college or student union. If anyone found to be violated this must be punished under the in the disciplinary act of college.
• Students being advised not to engage any illegal activities like violence, religious terrorism, badly addicted habits etc. If anyone found to be violated this, they may be rusticated from college.
• The respective students will be responsible for the cleanness and security of college building, library, practical lab etc. To put any banner or advertisement inside college also come in the in the disciplinary act of college.

• The principal keeps all rights to punish the student from the college due to any one of these causes are:
  
  • In disciplinary
  • Absenteeism
  • Fee dues
  • Raging

• It is mandatory to keep I Card in college. If any student not able to show I card during routine checking, college authority will charge fine Rs 20 against the respective candidate. If the same incident is repeated on the similar candidate, then the fine amount will be Rs 30. Put your recent passport size photograph in I card. In case I card lost or damaged new I card will be issued after submitting affidavit latter with fees Rs 50
• It is mandatory for the student to keep vehicles in college stand. If anyone keeps their vehicle outside the stand then college authority will charge filed against the respective candidate. If any vehicles lost from outside of stand then college won’t responsible for that incident
• There are separate classrooms available for boys and girls. If any student uses those classrooms in vacant period, or roam inside college campus without any motive, may be punished for breaking the discipline
• If student have to face any kind of odd circumstances or they want to do something new, then they are advised to submit written application to principal
• It is mandatory for the student to attend their scheduled classes
