Established on October 23, 1996, Dr. D.Y. Patil Unitech Society's Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology (DYPIHMCT) is a premier distinguished institute of Hospitality Studies offering B.H.M.C.T. and B.Sc.HS. courses.

The campus is located at Tathawade on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway Express Highway and it is close to Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park at Hinjawadi where many prestigious Companies like Infosys, Wipro, Cummins etc. are located.

DYPIHMCT being located close to Expressway. It is easily accessible by road from Mumbai as well as connected to other parts of the city.

The college is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune and it was recognized & approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and Govt. of Maharashtra.

It was re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade - (CGPA Score 2.10 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 14th September 2015.

The institute has dedicated, experienced and competent faculty with varied industrial exposure in international and national chains of hospitality organizations.

At present, the institute offers Institute offering two professional courses at UG level – BHMCT, B.Sc. Hospitality Studies. It also offers short-term training programs (STTP) are conducted in chocolate and sandwich making, eggless cake, mixology, floral art, communication skills and soft skills.

Hands-on training, real-life practices of hospitality services, food and beverage arrangements, guest room arrangement for sister concern DPU and D.Y. Patil Pratishthan colleges during convocation, Republic day, Independence day, committee visits such as NAAC and NBA and for other major events.
