Dr. Bhupendra Nath Dutta Smriti Mahavidyalaya( DBNDSM), Hatgobindapur was established in 1996.

Its affiliated to University of Burdman

The institution is named in the honor of Dr. Bhupendra Nath Dutta Smriti. He had contributed a lot towards the foundation of the college.

Dr. Bhupendra Nath Dutta dedicated his entire life for the cause of socio-economic advancement of the rural poor people. Admission is done on merit basis.

In 1983, a meeting headed by Dr. Ram Narayan Dutta was held at Mangobinda Chowdhury High School, Hatgobindapur and a concrete decision was taken to establish a college at Hatgobindapur that would not only be instrumental in spreading of higher education in the region but also be commemorative of Dr. Bhupendra Nath Dutta and his achievements.
