Dr. Akhtar Hasan Rizvi Shia Degree College, Jaunpur was established in 1994.

Its Affiliated to VBS Puvanchal University,

managed and administrated by learned Committee of management elected by the Board of Trustees consisting of members of the community the doors of the college are wide open to all, irrespective of any caste and creed.

This is in keeping with best tradition of Islam as preached and practiced by Prophet Mohammad and Hazrat Ali and his successors. Dr. Akhtar Hasan Rizvi Shia Degree College is serving and maintaining a high tradition in the teaching of science and commerce through their experienced teaching and non-teaching staff.

The College has ample constructed place and the managing committee has a plan to raise the institution to post-graduate level and start professional courses also.

Subjects like Computer Science, Statics, and Biochemistry are to be introduced at B.Sc. level. College is going to start B.Ed. Classes also from the next session. New courses are going to be introduced for the Computer Science Department.
