Don Bosco College, Maram (Dist. Senapati) was established on 14th February 2000 and administered by the Salesians of Don Bosco, a Religious order of the Catholic Church.

It is one of the premier colleges established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone on the part of progress.

The college is affiliated with the Manipur University, Canchipur and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) in 1980 & 12(B) in 1999 under Act, 1956.
 
It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade (CGPA Score 3.46 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) on 14th September 2015.

It is a co-educational institute, providing a regular course which is located in a rural part of Imphal played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college is situated in the rural area among the only primitive tribe in Manipur (listed in the schedule of the Government of India). It has its origin from the grand gestures of the visionary zeal of the great educator and friend of youth, Don Bosco.

The college has ever since followed a narrative openness, keeping the access to higher education equitable and affordable to the underprivileged, the marginalized and deserving tribal youth of the region.

Today, the institution has a much diverse demography with students from 69 tribes of North East India and hailing from 12 states of India. The college has achieved many a milestone in its short span of 14 years of pursuit of excellence more especially after the first cycle of accreditation.

The college offers regular and professional Under Graduate programmes. Realising the advantages of value addition programmes the college has in the past five years, offered several add-on and enrichment courses.

It is the first college in Manipur to have introduced incubation centre for entrepreneurship initiated by the Government of Manipur under the aegis of the director industries.

It is also part of the Skilling India programme with its worldwide network of DB Tech.

The objective is to ensure that each outgoing student will have completed at least one certificate course along with the regular programmes.

This multi-faculty institution has an enrolment of 1606 students, 72 faculty members, and 24 non-teaching staff. Dr. Fr. K.O Sebastian is the Principal of the institution.

The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government. The student's admission is done as per the Admission Criteria prescribed by the affiliating university.

The college has awarded as the best college by the affiliating university and also a number of awards in publication, offering scholarship & also awarded by the different society.

At present, the college offers three years honors degree courses in Arts, Commerce, BCA, BSW and Science streams at the college campus under Manipur University, Canchipur. It also offered several Add-On and enrichment courses.

The college also offers distance education mode courses with various specializations which are affiliated with Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi.
