DMI College of Engineering (DMICE), Chennai was established in 2001. Its affiliated to Anna University.

DMI College of Engineering is a Christian Minority Institution of Higher Technical Education, approved by All India Council for Technical Education [AICTE], Government of Tamilnadu and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The College is promoted and managed by the Sisters of the Society of DMI, which was founded in the year 1984 by Rev.Dr.Fr.J.E.Arulraj. The Society manages several educational, technical, health, welfare and social development institutions. The vision of these Institutions is to provide a discipline life with a spiritual base to remain ‘fully alive and fully human’. Further, it strives to achieve excellence and provides opportunities to the students to achieve technical excellence. The college also commits itself to promote self disciplined and holistic personalities among the marginalized, oppressed and disadvantaged sections of the society so as to mould persons in pursuance of making a better human life through science and technology. It enhances the core strength of the students and enables them to make significant contribution to the development of the society in particular and the nation at large.

DMI College of Engineering came into existence in the year 2001 with UG courses as follows, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Information Technology. The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was started in the academic year 2002. The Post Graduate Courses, Master of Computer Application and Master of Business Administration were introduced in the year 2006.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering were added in the year 2009. These departments have highly qualified, experienced and knowledgeable faculty members with specialization in respective fields. DMICE offers Post Graduation Course (M.E) in Computer Science that was introduced in 2007. In the year 2009, M.E Courses in Communication Systems and Power Electronics & Drives were started. In 2010, M.E Applied Electronics was also introduced.

This College is spaced out in a sprawling campus of 55 acres of land, more than double the stipulated area of the AICTE. It is located in a serene atmosphere at Mevalurkuppam’B’ Village, Palanchur situated on the Chennai-Bangalore National Highway.

DMI College of Engineering concedes the students to enjoy a highly fulfilling experience at the campus with a variety of extracurricular activities and Skills Development programmes. Every student experiences an enriching and memorable stint in DMI. DMICE is encouraging students to participate in a number of placement training programmes, Workshops, Seminars, Conferences and so on. With the result of such orientation developed inside the campus, the students were marked with the higher excellence amidst the society. DMI places a lot of importance in ensuring that every student truly enjoys and evolves at our institution. With several faculty development programmes and workshops, DMICE is continuing renewal and growth of the faculty in all facets of their professional lives.
