De Paul Institute of Science & Technology, Angamaly (Dist. Ernakulam) is a Catholic Christian Minority College was established on 2nd October 1983 and managed by De Paul Education Trust (R) and owned by Marymatha Province of Vincentian Congregation.

It is one of the premier institute established to impart & provide in the field of higher education for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone on the part of progress.

It is affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956. 

It is also recognized and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi to offer management course.The college has been awarded a certificate of ISO 9001:2008 Certification.

The aim of the college was to developing a quality of mind, ethical standard, social awareness and global perspectives also to accelerate the career paths of high-potential professionals by developing in them an entrepreneurial mindset, analytical thinking, global orientation and consultative approach to solving the most challenging and complex problems faced by corporations and policymakers.

It was a co-educational self-financed Institute, provided a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Ernakulam played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college had created several Centers of Excellence, these centers are established with a view to strengthening teaching, research, consulting and community engagement. Each center is created around a contemporary management theme with the primary goal of creating, disseminating and applying knowledge.

The college offers two years postgraduate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management i.e Master of Bussiness (MBA) Program and five years Doctoral and Research (Ph.D.) Programs with various specializations under Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.

Students should have to choose one honor (core) subject with two or more as subsidiary (elective) subjects for the specific undergraduate streams.

It also offers Post Graduate Diploma in Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management and also in Foundation Program (International Collaboration) courses.

DIST has also international tie-ups with foreign universities such as De Paul University, Chicago, US and James Cook University, Australia as part of facilitating an overseas exposure to the students and along with International certification for selected programs, the students also get to interact with students & faculty of the foreign universities.

The college also received the numbers of achievements awards in the field of education, sports and curricular activities under Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam.

University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by  Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, and various other examinations are held in the college premises.
