Dharma Appa Rao Degree College, Nuzvid was established in 1966.

Dharma Appa Rao College is located in the Nuzvid sub-division of the Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh state. It is a co-education college affiliated to the Krishna University. The College has 5.10acres (20639 square meters) of land and geographically located into semi-urban area. This college is well- connected with the capital and other important places of Nuzvid. The College received recognition from the University Grants Commission (UGC) under 2(f) and 12(B) as DHARMA APPA RAO COLLEGE on 31st March 1966. The College came into existence in 1966 through the initiative taken by Late Dr. M.R. Appa Row an eminent academician who served as Member of the Parliament, Legislative member of Andhra Pradesh for 6 times consecutively and also as a Vice- Chancellor of Andhra University for two terms in Andhra Pradesh State, who recognized the importance of higher education in the development of the State. Like all other good initiatives, this effort also experienced various ups and downs.

Aims & Objectives:

1) To inculcate the qualities of punctuality, self discipline and hard work and there by lay a strong foundation to their character.

2) To cultivate necessary skills attitudes and habits of lifelong learning. So that they adapt to a rapidly evolving society.

3) To involve students in community services through N.C.C. and N.S.S.

4) To encourage students to apply knowledge in contemporary issues with compassion and love through literary, science and humanities.

5) To develop leadership of high caliber and integrity.
