Department of Regional Planning and Economic Growth, Barkatullah Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal is an interdisciplinary department which promotes academic pursuits in Economics and Geography.

The department offers M.A. degree in Economics with specialization in Regional Planning and Economic Growth and M.Phil and Doctorate programmes in Geography and Economics.

The teaching programmes focus on regional planning and developmental studies with interdisciplinary approach.

Since 2005, the department has also started a self financed Post Graduate course in Environmental Science.
