Department of Architecture-NITT, Tiruchirappalli was established in 1984.

The department was started with just three faculty members and hardly any infrastructure. But the growth of the department in these twenty one years has been phenomenal.

Today they have faculty members who have specialized in all important branches of architecture and a group of able students drawn from all over the country.

The department curriculum was devised taking into the changes that are taking place in the construction industry in India, in general and architecture, specific.
