Established on 8th August 1987, Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, Delhi (DCAC) is a constituent college of the University of Delhi. The institute was established with the support of the Delhi Administration and governed by the Salwan Trust. The Govt. of NCT, Delhi finances it partially (five percent).
Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, Delhi is affiliated to the University of Delhi, New Delhi and it was recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) on 3rd April 1989 under Act, 1956.
On 25th June 2017, Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, Delhi was re-accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B+" Grade (CGPA Score 2.52 on a 4 Point Scale in the 1st cycle).
Delhi College of Arts and Commerce is a grant-in-aid college and so the facilities to be provided to the students and the fees to be paid are decided by the government. In July-August 1989, the institute was the first college to start an honors programme of three years in journalism in Delhi University.
DCAC offers eighteen undergraduate courses in total. On the completion of these, the college awards Bachelor with Honours. Students can choose from various paper options under the FYUP mode and the CBCS mode. There are also several self-financed and add-on courses offered by the institute.
The institute has also entered into a collaboration with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana Scheme.
DCAC has its own unique selection process. Students seeking admission to the institute have to register online and take an admission test conducted by the college. The cut-off marks for being eligible for the test are specified by the college every year.
The institute conducts various types of examinations in the premises of the college. These range from examinations conducted by the Delhi University to the examinations of various courses.
