About Dayanand Mahila Mahavidyalaya

Dayanand Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Kurukshetra was established in 1982 in the sacred memory of Rishi Dayanand Saraswati with the aim to provide quality education to the girls of the region who were deprived of higher education due to the unhealthy atmosphere prevalent in co-educational institutes.

The college is affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "B++" Grade - (1st Cycle) in the year 2003.

Some visionaries of Arya Samaj came together and had the initiative to open a girls' college where value based and knowledge based education could be imparted to the girls to make them meet the challenges of life.

For the last 35 years, the college has been successfully fulfilling its aim, reaching new heights every year.

The college offers three years undergraduate & two years postgraduate courses in Arts, Science & Commerce streams under Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. It also offers Management & Add-on courses.

Students are given the facility to join add-on courses at certificate, diploma and advanced diploma level, simultaneously with their regular courses.

The college has an attractive, campus situated in secured and serene atmosphere suitable for learning
The college has separate individual departments for all subjects with young, dynamic faculty and non-teaching staff and with good results
The college has the most eminent Faculty members and they are really well qualified, experienced and truly committed towards enhancement and development of the students
The college has well-equipped with modern facilities like library, laboratory, classrooms, computer lab, canteen, seminar halls, multipurpose halls & playground etc.
A sufficient number of classrooms with varying sizes are made available for the smooth conduct of different classes in the college
The college has a library with a good number of books (both text and reference) on various subjects to meet the needs of the students as well as the teachers with reading room facility. Daily Newspapers and selected journals are also regularly subscribed
State of the Art Laboratories with sufficient space and all the necessary equipment are made available to various departments
The college has established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) on 31st March 2009 to assure the quality of the college and also details regarding submission of Annual Quality Assurance Reports (AQAR) to NAAC annually
The college runs a canteen inside the campus where staff and students can have meals and snacks prepared in a hygienic manner and at an affordable cost
Internet facilities may be availed by the students and teachers as per their needs
The college has a large playground with will-equipment for different sports like Cricket, Football, Volleyball, Hockey, Badminton and so on
State Government and Central Government offers a number of scholarships to the meritorious students and the students belonging to SC / ST / OBC
The college consists Women Cell to help female students. This cell helps and guides girls to sort out from their personal problem and avoid them from any harassment
