D.A.V. College, Chandigarh or Dayanand Anglo Vedic College, Chandigarh, is a constituent college of D.A.V. Institutions, was established in 1958, founded by Mahatma Hans Raj.

It is managed by DAV College Managing Committee (DAVCMC) which was established in 1987 is the largest non-governmental organization in the field of education in India today.

The college is affiliated with Panjab University, Chandigarh and it is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) & 12(B) under Act, 1956.

It is re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade - (CGPA Score 3.31 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) in 19th February 2016.

The aim of the college is trying to bring about this synthesis by imparting to the students the best of new world humanistic, scientific and technical knowledge with the sense of a history of their rich cultural heritage-the Anglo and Vedic values.

It is a co-educational private college provided a regular course in which is located in the urban part of Chandigarh played a pioneering role in the field of higher education.

The college conferred the status of grant-in-aid college that the fees and all the facilities for the students are fixed by the government.

At present, the college offers three years undergraduate and two years postgraduate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management stream with various specializations under the Panjab University, Chandigarh. It also offers Diploma, Post Graduate Diploma, and Add-On Certificate courses.

Some of the UG courses are under Choice Based Credit and Semester System (CBCSS) and all the PG courses are under Credit and Semester System (CSS) of the affiliating university. Therefore, the students should have to choose one honor (core) subject with two or more as subsidiary (elective) subjects for the specific undergraduate streams.

University examinations of different courses, examinations conducted by the Punjab University, Chandigarh and various other examinations are held in the college premises. The admission criteria for the college is strictly based on Merit and Written Test.
