Dakshin Guwahati B.Ed College, Kamrup was established on 20th August, 1993 at Fatasil Ambari, Guwahati - 25 with permission from Guwahati University and NCTE, Bhubaneshwar.

The college is affiliated to Gauhati University, Guwahati and recognized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

The college was set up with an objective of promoting quality education in the region and has well experinced teachers to enlighten the aspiring teachers.

Students here are admitted who completed there graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks in eligibility for admission.

The institute offers one year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for those who have completed there graduation with minimum aggregate of 45 % from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.

Various teaching and learning techniques are being used by the faculty to impart knowledge and skills to students at Dakshin Guwahati B.Ed College, Kamrup in its various departments.
